Increase in highest GCSE grades at Fairfax Academy

Students at Fairfax Academy are celebrating another fantastic year of GCSE performance with the continued rise in the proportion of students achieving Grades 9–7. The proportion of students achieving Grades 5–9 has also increased again overall, reflecting the sustained hard work and commitment of students and staff.

There have also been notable successes in languages and vocational courses, with students demonstrating exceptional progress and achievement across a broad range of subjects. These results highlight the strength and diversity of the curriculum at Fairfax Academy and the opportunities available to every student to achieve their potential.

The academy is equally proud of the progress made across key student sub-groups, with improvements demonstrating the impact of targeted support, high expectations and a relentless focus on ensuring that every student can succeed.

Principal Sean Castle said: “We are incredibly proud of our students and the results they have achieved this year. Behind every grade is an enormous amount of hard work, determination and resilience, and I would like to congratulate every student on their achievements.

“It is particularly pleasing to see an increase in the number of students achieving Grades 9–7, alongside another overall increase in Grades 5–9. These improvements are a testament to the dedication of our students, staff and families.

“I would like to thank our exceptional staff for their commitment, professionalism and belief in our students, as well as parents and carers for their continued support. Most importantly, I want to congratulate our students. We are immensely proud of what they have achieved and wish them every success as they take their next steps into further education, training and employment.”

The results reflect Fairfax Academy’s continued commitment to high achievement, inclusion and opportunity for all, with students now moving on to the next stage of their education and future careers.
