SEND students at Erdington Academy who regularly attend the weekly sporting lunchtime club delivered by Kayleigh Walker were invited to participate in the “Birmingham MoveNow Festival” that took place at Nechell’s Wellbeing Centre.
MoveNow Future Festivals was a collaboration between the Youth Sport Trust and Allianz which hopes to build momentum and inspiration for the upcoming Paralympic Games. The aim of the festival was to increase the opportunities for all young people with additional support needs to realise their own personal aspirations in life and sport.
Students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of events including archery, 3v3 basketball, boccia, dance, judo/taekwondo and VI football.
The students involved had a brilliant time, will all students displaying FMAT Trust Values. They were a credit to the Academy; five of the students who attended received individual medals for determination, courage, respect and friendship.
