Erdington Academy Students Attend Springboard Hospitality Takeover at The Belfry
On Monday 13th October, 15 of our Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition (FPAN) students proudly represented Erdington Academy at the Springboard West Midlands Hospitality Takeover Event, held at the prestigious Belfry Hotel and Resort.
They joined over 100 students from local schools to explore the diverse and exciting careers available in the hospitality industry. The event was designed to be fun, interactive, and inspiring, giving students a first-hand insight into the range of roles and progression opportunities within the sector.
Throughout the day, students took part in a variety of practical workshops and employer-led activities, from front-of-house skills and culinary tasters to behind-the-scenes hotel operations. These engaging sessions were delivered by professionals from leading hospitality businesses, giving students a real sense of what working in the industry entails.
A particular highlight was the recognition of Danial M, who was chosen by the event organizer’s at Springboard as the “Most Improved Student” of the day. Danial’s growing confidence, willingness to engage, and positive attitude stood out across the sessions, a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Erdington Academy.
As our pupils start thinking about their next steps, this event offered valuable information on career pathways, apprenticeships, and further education opportunities in hospitality, one of the UK’s fastest growing and most dynamic sectors.
