Celebrating Success at the Education Awards 2025

On Friday night, colleagues from Fairfax and Bournville schools gathered to celebrate excellence in education at the prestigious Education Awards 2025. The event, held at the stunning Birmingham Millennium Point, brought together educators, leaders, and innovators from across the region to recognise outstanding contributions in the sector.

It was an especially proud evening for Fairfax School, with two major honours awarded to longstanding and much-respected members of staff.

Helen Williams, Assistant Principal at Fairfax, won the award for Outstanding Support for Students, a recognition of her unwavering commitment to student welfare, inclusion, and success. With over 25 years of dedicated service to the school, Helen’s work has shaped the lives of countless students, ensuring that every child feels seen, supported, and capable of achieving their best.

The celebrations continued with the announcement of the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to Rachel Boyce, Deputy Head at Fairfax. With three decades of service, Rachel has played a pivotal role in shaping the school’s culture, values, and educational vision. Her work behind the scenes has been instrumental in creating the inclusive, high-achieving environment that Fairfax is known for today. As her name was announced, Rachel received a standing ovation from colleagues across the audience—a deeply moving and well-deserved tribute.

The awards evening also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and celebration. Staff from both Fairfax and Bournville enjoyed a night of connection with colleagues across the sector.

Congratulations once again to Helen and Rachel, and to all those who represented Fairfax and Bournville on the night. The awards were not just a celebration of individual excellence, but a testament to the strength, dedication, and community spirit across Fairfax Trust
